TCS to hire 25,000 from campus


 TCS today announced its second-quarter earnings and shed light on its hiring plans. The company stated that it will be recruiting a total of 25,000 students via campus placements, out of which 12,500 have already been hired.

Speaking about its new hires in Q2 2012, Ajoy Mukherjee, the HR head of the company, commented, "We've hired 18654 this quarter in India. We're sticking to our hiring plans." Out of this figure, 10,205 were trainees, 5,764 were laterals and 2,685 were overseas employees.

The net addition of employees for the quarter stood at 10,531.

TCS also reported 11.4% employee attrition rate in IT and BPO divisions, its lowest over the past ten quarters.
