IT sector sees maximum hiring


The demand for consultants and freelance professionals reported growth of 21%, revealed RecruiteX May Report. The pattern reinforces RecruiteX's earlier finding on emerging market of temporary jobs in India Inc in its June 2011 report. 

RecruiteX is the Recruitment Index for India which identifies the hiring activity and trends in India Inc. Based on tactful extraction and examination of jobs posted and applied in a month, it details 'recruitment' as a process backed by hiring sentiments of a recruiter and aspirations of a job seeker. It is the only report, which decodes the hiring trends in the country after evaluating the demand and supply of talent across industries. 
The report pointed out that temp jobs market is witnessing a lot of activity, off late. Industry experts reason, as war for talent continues, opportunities are flourishing for consultant and freelance professionals. 

According to the report, sectors such as automobiles and IT and telecom contributed 17 to 21% in the upward movement of the demand index. Where as, consumer durables and FMCG witnessed 12% and manufacturing & engineering sectors reported 11% growth in hiring momentum. 

In location-wise analysis, Jaipur, Lucknow and Chandigarh reported double-digit growth in demand during May 2012. Chennai was the only metro to witness upbeat hiring momentum. In state-wise analysis, West Bengal and Rest of Andhra Pradesh showed significant growth in the index.
