Google's Nexus 7 tablet is selling close to one million units a month, its Taiwanese manufacturer has revealed.
Although official sales figures have not yet been released by Google, Asustek executives gave an indication of the Nexus 7's burgeoning popularity following the company's third-quarter earnings conference.
"At the beginning, it was, for instance, 500K units a month, then maybe 600, 700K. This latest month, it was close to 1 million," Asustekchief financial officer David Chang told The Wall Street Journal.
According to the Journal, the number still pales in comparison to Apple's third-quarter sales of 14 million iPads.
The research firm Strategy Analytics has revealed that a total of 25 million tablets were sold globally in the third quarter.
