Panasonic is working with Microsoft to develop a tablet computer for business customers that runs on Windows 8 operating system.
The tablet, which will have a 20-inch liquid crystal display panel, is expected to hit the market this year.
According to sources, the tablet will be the world's first of its kind to come with 4K technology that displays images four times finer than existing high-definition resolutions, the Japan Times reports.
Panasonic is apparently putting more focus on development of products for business consumers.
The firm had earlier formed business alliances with IBM and General Motors.
According to the report, it is pursuing joint research and development with IBM of electric appliances utilizing cloud computing, while it is developing a new information system for automobiles together with GM.
