Taiwanese handset giant HTC is said to be working on its next flagship smartphone which is rumoured to be codenamed the HTC M8 orHTC One 2.
A number of reports claiming to shed some light on the phone's specifications, features and and design, have already surfaced online, though the company is yet to make an announcement related to it. The latest to join the bandwagon is Twitter user @evleaks who had also posted images and details related to specifications of the HTC One, last year.
According to @eveleaks the HTC One successorwould be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor (MSM8974), with 2GB of RAM. Similar to the HTC One, the M8 will sport a full-HD (1080p) display with slightly bigger screen size at 5-inch.
The HTC One successor will feature an UltraPixel rear camera and a 2.1MP front camera, as per the Twitter user. He also adds that the phone will support Gigabit WiFi (802.11ac) and run Android 4.4 KitKat OS with Sense 6.0, a new version of HTC's UI skin, running on top.
It is worth pointing out that @evleaks has called these specifications 'preliminary,' which implies that there could be some changes, in the future or perhaps the specifications are of a prototype, which is still under development.
The user had earlier said that the phone will launch in the first quarter of 2014 in the US.
Previously, a Chinese website had reported that the HTC M8 will have 5-inch or 5.2-inch display with 2K (2048x1080p) resolution and run on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor clocked at 2.2GHz. The report had also hinted at HTC Sense 6.0 UI and 3GB RAM, with availability in early 2014.
It had also featured purported images of HTC One's successor, showing that it will follow the same design language as its predecessor, but will be thinner and have more rounded edges. The handset is also expected to sport a fingerprint scanner on the back.
