The prestigious awards were based on an 'Airport Customer survey ' that measured satisfaction across a range of 39 service and product Key Performance Indicators that track the customer experience at each airport, for departing, arriving and transit passengers.
The SKYTRAX airport survey also rated Delhi airport as the best one in India.

Hyderabad International Airport was rated the third-best Indian airport.
South Korea's Incheon International Airport was named as the World's Best Airport. It was also declared the best airport handling 30-50m passengers annually.
Domination of the highest global airport rankings by airports across Asia is notable, with 6 of the top 10 positions going to Asian airports.
Singapore Changi Airport finished in 2nd place in the main Airport of the Year survey, and achieved success in winning both Best Transit Airport and Best Leisure Airport awards.

Amsterdam Schiphol Airport returned to the top-5 this year taking 4th place in the overall rankings and winning the award for Best Airport Europe.
Beijing Capital International Airport (BCIA) maintained a steady performance in this years awards, achieving 5th place in the global rankings. This consistency ensured that BCIA took the prize for Best Airport China and completed a hat-trick in the category, having also won the award in 2010 and 2011. There was additional success for BCIA who also won Best Airport Baggage Delivery.

Terminal 5, London Heathrow Airport was named the world's Best Airport terminal by airline customers.
Premium Terminal, Doha Int'l Airport was voted the world's Best Premium Service Airport by travelers
London Stansted Airport was named by passengers as the world's Best low-cost Airport.
