Look out Apple and Samsung Huawei confident global takeover in 5 years

Chinese communications giant Huawei has predicted it could be the top smartphone vendor in the world within five years.

Speaking at MWC in Barcelona this week, Wan Biao CEO of Huawei Devices said his company can repeat the astonishing rise of Samsung and Apple over the past half decade and even usurp them in the near future.

Biao believes that handsets like the impressive Ascend P2 announced this week are just the beginning as the Huawei looks to build on its roots as a dominant global player in mobile infrastructure.

He told the Telegraph: "If you look back five years ago, Apple is small, Samsung is not so big. You can't see where we'll be in five years. At least top three. Maybe number one."

Dropbox users bombarded by spam e mails

Many Dropbox users are reporting that they’re being bombarded by spam e-mails. This led users to believe that Dropbox was once again hacked, like last year when hundreds of users were receiving spam emails to email accounts only used for their Dropbox account. A spokesman from Dropbox has stated that it’s not the same this time around, and assured users that its service wasn’t hacked.

SMS too much, You may get text neck

Too much texting and tilting your head down while looking at mobile devices may give some people a 'text neck', experts warn.

"People get so focused on these devices that they end up holding their neck and upper back in abnormal positions for a long period of time; enough that other people coined the phrase 'text neck', which is essentially referring to postural pain," said Chris Cornett, orthopaedic surgeon and spine specialist at the University of Nebraska Medical Center Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Rehabilitation. 

Price of cheaper iPhone revealed

 iPhone's cheaper version has not even been officially confirmed yet, but the price of the supposed smartphone is allegedly out.

There are a number of rumours floating, but according to one report in Japanese blog Macotakara, Apple is trying to keep its price tag at $330.

The blog says the company would be using polycarbonate, instead of glass and aluminium in the body casing. The material will be similar to the one used in Apple's entry-level Macbook that has now been discontinued.
