Google named best company to work for by Fortune

Google
We all want to know what companies are the best to work for in this day and age. Of course, we all need a steady paycheck to take care of all those living expenses, but a lot of people obviously truly care about the culture, environment, and what kind of people they’re working with. If you’re the kind of person who likes amenities, Google might be the place for you.
Fortune has released its list of the best companies to work for in 2013, and with almost $38 billion in revenue in 2011, it’s easy to see why Google was at the top again. The company has three wellness centers that offer free massages to employees, as well as a seven-acre sports complex, which includes a roller hockey rink, courts for basketball, bocce ball, shuffle ball, and horseshoe pits.

Fortune says that Google gave its workers “100,000 hours of subsidized massages” last year alone. Honestly, we don’t know how Google employees find time to do all of these activities in the first place. It’s possible that many of them stay afterward to play around, but it seems that most of the employees would want to go home to their families after a hard day’s work.
Rounding out the top five is SAS, CHG Healthcare Services, The Boston Consulting Group, and Wegmans Food Markets. Other notable tech companies that made the top 100 include Qualcomm at number 11, Cisco at number 42, Intel at number 68, and Microsoft at number 72. 72nd place might seem like a huge bummer for Microsoft, but that’s still in the top 100 of the thousands and thousands of companies in the US, so they can’t be too disappointed with that.
