In all the allegations and reactions that surrounded RCB player Luke Pomersbach’s arrest by the Delhi Police, what really stuck out like a sore thumb were Sidhartha Mallya’s comments about the alleged victim.
The Director of Royal Challengers Bangalore chose to raise doubts about the character of the lady in question, via his Twitter account. When the national media questioned him about the remarks, he was not only defiant but also threatened to abuse them if they came close to him. Here’s what Sid tweeted –
“The girl who is accusing Luke is saying he hit her 'fiance'...what a load of f***ing s***. She was all over me last night and asked for me bbm pin, so if he was her fiance she wasn't exactly behaving like a future wife.”“First SRK, now this...everyone loves a good scandal. Why can't ppl just enjoy the cricket...has everyone forgotten chris' 100 last night?”“If luke is in the wrong, then trust me he will face the necessary sanctions. But what this girl is doing is idiotic.”
The alleged victim Zohal Hamid has in turn said she would sue the 25-year-old Mallya for defamation.
This was all after the RCB management had issued a formal response stating that they would co-operate with the authorities so that a fair investigation takes place.

Team owner and Sidhartha’s father Vijay Mallya had also come out and stated that Luke would not play for RCB while team mentor Anil Kumble said the franchise was planning an internal inquiry into the incident.
From RCB’s perspective did it then make sense for Sidhartha to make some irresponsible and derogatory comments? Were Sid’s tweets questioning the alleged victim’s integrity an appropriate response from an IPL franchise Director, especially when he claims to not have yet heard Luke’s own version of events? And we’re not even delving into the misogynistic and sexist nature of his comments.
