Let’s be honest, most of you have sported this look at least once in your life; probably when you sat at home trying to rap Eminem lyrics. But unless you’re 50 Cent, jewellery is not for you. Wearing diamond studs on each ear and bling around your neck does not spell cool in any language. You may be a pseudo rapper, but let’s face it- earrings will only down your cool quotient to a very low level. Out with those shiny

Baggy Jeans

While it is understandable that some men are not meant for skinny jeans and the weather reporter too thinks tight pants for the summers can be skipped, going too loose will do no good either. Baggy jeans are such a faux pas that even a little kid would find it hideous to look at. When your boxers can be seen while your jeans are still on, it is not a pleasant sight. The baggy jeans should be out and let’s get those nice fitted pants in, not too skinny but just the right ones.

Mismatch much?

Yellow, red, blue, green, orange…colour blocking may be trending but if you can’t wear it well, we rather you block it. Never wear too many different colors in an effort to mismatch. A yellow shirt is good if not worn with red pants. We are not in the 70’s; evolve to a better colour combination that is appealing to the eyes. Go for summery linens or cool light colors.

Capris

Remember these? We call it the perplexed man's pant- too short to be pants, too long to be shorts. Mix the two and voila! Capris are what you get! Guys, some women like you in shorts while some like you in jeans or trousers. But NO woman appreciates ‘the capris’. It is a complete no-no and if you still have these backed up somewhere in your wardrobe, aren’t you glad you read this article?

Shiny Disco Ball

You know when you’re at a wedding and from a distance you can spot someone wearing that really shiny sherwani. Yes, that needs to be avoided by all means. Ask your designer to use new textures in place of embroideries. Stand out in a crowd, but in a good way. Talking about shine; crystal studded T shirts – never buy, never wear.

Don’t be a mannequin

A trendy scarf on a winters day or a nice summer hat one afternoon in May, Ray Bans to protect your eyes or a smart tie for a formal occasion– they’re all great accessories when not worn at the same time. Never wear too many accessories on one outfit unless you’re a mannequin in a shop. Less is always more. Be simple and stylish and let go off those extras before getting out. Lastly, never wear clothes that you don’t feel confident in. Be yourself and you will look the best with some help from, yours truly.
