These are the 5 trends to watch out in Digital space in 2013 according to Anisha.
- Mobile Mania
We took our biggest bet on mobile a year and a half ago and I think this year will be the year that mobile will rule. All things around mobile will outgrow at an astounding pace. Developers will find it easier to reach consumers with operators opening up D2C. Location based marketing will become more reality than hype. FMCG brands targeting rural market will realize that mobile is the most effective medium to reach out to rural
- More with NFC (Near Field Communication) and Mobile
This one is more of a global trend which I think we’ll see more and more of. Though its been around for a while and there was hype a couple of years ago, my take is that this year NFC will get its moment of glory. More and more smart phones are being enabled to support NFC . Think EZ Pass convenience everywhere, how cool would that be?
- Brands going vernacular
This is truly an Indian dilemma of ‘to tackle or not’- . I think we’ll see a lot of the mass brands go vernacularly digital this year or atleast I hope they do.
- The rise of ‘Now’ Culture and real time marketing
As users get more sophisticated their tastes get more refined comparison, shopping and reviews all become real time. An offer at the right minute will mean a converted user. A great experience will mean real time tweeting and social media hype and the Indian brands will wake up to being more conscious about it in 2013. Businesses will pay attention to digital reputation management.
- Marketers Embrace ‘Smart’ Content:
Brands will recognize the necessity of adding relevant content to the marketing mix to engage on a deeper level with users. Shopping sites adding more and more user opinions, product walkthroughs etc …anything that eases shopping online, similarly content sites start using amazon like recommendation engines to showcase smart content – more content similar to the user consumption patterns.
- Anisha will be speaking at Panel #3 – Ecommerce Market build brand V/S build business.
