TimesJobs has just released a web-based app to aide professionals. The app is called ‘Career Play’, it is simply a web-address which can be accessed from any mobile’s browser.
TimesJobs already has a mobile app that lets you search, view & even apply for a job. However, despite the convenience of an application & a full-fledged website, the one thing that professionals routinely neglect is to keep their resumes updated with achievements. Often, only when the need arises, do they sit down to include achievements & milestones. But, it becomes rather difficult to keep accurate track of the details & this in turn can tend to some of the important activities being missed out.
Since this happens because the candidate does not immediately / regularly update his or her resume, TimesJobs came up with a ‘Live Documents’ concept that can be easily accessed from anywhere & any platform. Hence instead of building an OS specific app, they created a web-based HTML5 document-cum-app that is both versatile, dynamic & secure in nature.
Beside adding / editing there are a couple of other nifty features too:
1. Ability to source information: People tend to scatter their information. This app can actively collate the information from multiple sources.
2. Streamlined Timeline: The most important aspect of any resume is the streamlined appearance with achievements listed chronologically. The app allows the candidate to present the same. Additionally, the app allows the same possibility in case of positions held.
3. Stay Updated: With a simple notification tab, the application even offers the convenience of having all notifications at a single location.
4. Share Information: Easily one of the highlights of the app; it allows users to share particular milestones or important achievements with colleagues, friends & other acquaintances on multiple Social Media sites. Furthermore, the user can even specify the privacy options.
With multiple Job sites vying for subscriber base & user engagement, is is mandatory to ensure ones platform is easily accessible across devices. TimesJobs seems to be doing just that. Do give the web-app / live document a try & let us know what you think.
