The New French Prez unveils his cabinet of beauties

THE arduous role of providing elegant sophistication to an Indian Parliament seriously deficient in the glamour quotient might solely fall on actress Rekha. But the French parliament faces no such dilemma. The newly sworn in cabinet under the leadership of French President Francoise Hollande boasts of a bevy of high profile beauties who are both fashion conscientious and impressively sophisticated. Yamina Benguigui, the junior minister for expatriates and Francophone, arrived for her first cabinet meeting dressed in a grey pant-suit paired with a Louis Vuitton tote. She completed her outfit with a pair of high black peep-toe pumps and oversized red frames.

While Benguigui, a film director, had almost a movie star-like appeal, France’s culture minister Aurelie Filippetti, a novelist of Italian descent, looked no less than the lead protagonist of a novella. The 38-year-old, who had previously been in the news for allegations that Dominique Strauss-Kahn tried to grope her, showed off her natural beauty in a chic knee-length black dress which she paired with a stylish blazer and laced ankle boots.

Joining their stylish ranks in a printed floral dress paired with a black Gucci shoulder bag, knee high boots and a blazer was junior minister for small business, innovation and digital economy, Fleur Pellerin.

It was a feminine A-line dress paired with a white blazer for the charming junior minister for handicraft, tourism and trade, Sylvia Pinel. She accessorised the ensemble with bangles, a broach and a messenger tote.

Cecile Duflot, the minister of territorial equality and housing, chose to dress up in her denims and white shirt with a trench coat, a brown leather shoulder bag and matching brown heels.

Najat Vallaud-Belkacem, 34, showed off her affable style in a navy blue pant-suit. The Moroccan-born politician was bang on trend as she teamed her outfit with a pop of neon and laced loafers.

The President’s partner Valerie Trierweiler has already matched former First Lady Carla Bruni in the fashion department, but she might just have got more than she bargained for with all the in-house competition. (With inputs from Daily Mail)
