Galaxy S III 64GB launch in 2012, Samsung

Samsung has affirmed that the 64GB version of its flagship Galaxy S III is under development.

The South Korean mobile phone manufacturer told Android Central, "The 64GB model of the GALAXY S III will be available during the second half of this year. The market availability and timing may vary and will be determined at the time of release." This statement by Samsung will quell the speculation that the company has decided against launching the model.

Previously, a UK-based retailer called Expansys had begun cancelling pre-orders for the phone and had gone on to mail buyers about the same. This move by the retailer had given rise to rumours that Samsung may have done away with the64GB S III because of insufficient demand.

Samsung Galaxy S III was unveiled on May 04, 2012 and has been a high-selling smartphone for the manufacturer. Powered by Android v4.0.4 (Ice Cream Sandwich), it is currently available in 16GB and 32GB versions globally. The device features a 4.8-inch SuperAMOLED touchscreen with Gorilla Glass 2, 1GB RAM, 8MP autofocus camera with flash and a 1.4 GHz Cortex-A9 quad core processor
