Google adds calorie count to search app

The new feature to the Google search app allows users to find out nutritional and calorie information related to food-related queries.

The update, which will be made available to the users in the coming two weeks, will provide detailed calorie and nutrition information sourced from the US Department of Agriculture, reports New York Daily News.

The feature provides a new display for easier access to nutritional queries.
Google representative, Roya Soleimani said that currently, about 1,000 foods are represented, including fruits, vegetables and popular dishes like chowmein and burritos, as well as alcoholic beverages, with more items steadily being rolled out, the report added.
